Bessenberg Editions are created to bring rare and expensive out of print books available to the public at an affordable price.
First, a book with an expired copyright which remains in the public domain is chosen. Then a copy of that book is purchased and disbound. Using state of the art scanners and software the pages are scanned and digitally cleaned up. From these digital files plates are made for off-set printing and binding by Thomson-Shore, then a limited number of books are pulled off the line and brought to Bessenberg for special edition leather binding.
For now we are selecting books that relate to local history, but we plan on expanding our line to include much more. So stay tuned!
Custom hand-bound facsimile copies of “Atherton's Narrative” and “Life of General Anthony Wayne” are now available online through AbeBooks.
We offer three binding options of each title -
- Intricately stamped cloth version $35.00
- Quarter leather version with marbled end leafs and hand numbered $120.00
- Full leather version with marbled end leafs and hand numbered $240.00
